Help to cover the cost of your Acorn Stairlift

We'll help you find out if you're eligible for a stairlift grant and guide you through the process of applying.

Buying an Acorn Stairlift is an investment in your future and one that will pay dividends in your quality of life, but we recognise that the initial cost is an important consideration.

Many people are unaware that they could benefit from a grant towards the cost of installing a stairlift in their home. In some cases it could even cover the full cost.

There are three main grant schemes which could help, depending on your individual circumstances. These are:

  • The Mobility Aids Grant Scheme - this is available to people with a household income of less than €30,000 per year and is subject to a means test. Applications are prioritised according to medical need.
  • The Housing Adaptation Grant for People with a Disability - if you have a disability which makes it difficult to live in your home without a stairlift, then a grant may be available under this scheme towards the cost of installing one.
  • The Housing Aid for Older People Scheme - this grant scheme is used to improve the condition of an older person's home, making it more habitable for them, and is generally aimed at people over the age of 66.

All three of the above grant schemes are administered by local authorities (county or city councils) and you should be able to find out more and learn if you are eligible by contacting your own local authority.

However, at Acorn we know that some people are put off applying for a grant, even when they are clearly entitled to it, because they find the whole process confusing and overwhelming. That's why we offer simple and straightforward help and advice to our customers, guiding them through the whole process from start to finish.

We aim to make applying for a stairlift grant as easy and trouble-free as possible - just give us a call on 1800 882 978 for a chat with one of our friendly and helpful stairlift advisors.
